FISHPONDS

WHAT IS A FISHPOND?

Fishponds were great examples of early creativity of native people. Hawaiians have studied the tides, moon, and sun. Realizing that they could harvest fish within a confined area, now known as a fishpond. Similar to fish traps, fishponds used the same idea by taking advantage of natural occurrences.
